is the pianist and co-leader of LIVE JAZZ GROUP.
Rhodes is a
veteran pianist on the New Orleans
jazz scene having performed as a solo pianist for many years at the Royal Orleans Hotel and other venues and as a member of various jazz groups as well as his own.
With his own trio he recorded
several recordings live from New Orleans premier jazz club Snug Harbor including "Snug Harbor
Sessions", "Touchstones and Torch Songs", and "S,Mardi Gras at Snug
Harbor". He has also played and
recorded traditional Dixieland piano on "The Gentle Jazz" recording with Clarinetist Norman Meyer and bassist
Jim Campbell. He has played over many
years with various musicians including Alto saxophonist Al Belleto's quartet featuring
Drummer John Vidacovich, Trombonists Carl Fontana and Mark Mullins, Trumpeters Connie
Jones, Eddie Bayard, Richard
Sudhalter, Clarinetists Jack
Maheu, Pud Brown, and
Don Suhor, the Dukes of Dixieland, vocalist Luther Kent, as well as his own groups Jazz from Congo Square
and the Night Bloom-in' Jazz Men.
He has played with his own and various other
groups for almost every French Quarter Jazz Festival since its inception.
Over the years he has been
active writing about jazz from reviewing
records, writing jazz columns for various publications such as New Orleans
Magazine, Jazz Times, the Polish Magazine Jazz Forum. In 1984 he published a book “A Guide To Jazz In New Orleans"
and for 15 years he hosted a jazz radio show twice weekly at WWNO and WWOZ
entitled "Jazz Sketches" and "Jazz From Congo Square".
In 1985 he hosted The New Orleans Jazz Club program on WWL. He has served on the board
of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Louis Armstrong Cultural
Development Fund, and he also served as a member of the State of Louisiana Music Commission. For several years he was a guest lecturer at
Loyola's School
of Music Jazz Studies
program.
Lil Josephine
is a veteran
performer of many jazz idioms. Her main instrument is electric bass (fretless and fretted). She was one of the original members of Some
Like It Hot, the traditional Dixieland band on upright bass and bass drum for
over 8 years.
She
alternated between electric guitar, standup bass and electric bass at various
venues with renowned jazz guitarist Warren Battiste, who was honored with a
lifetime achievement award by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in
2001.
She has
played at many venues in the New Orleans area
including Turtle
Bay,
Spotted Cat, Maison, The Bombay Club, Tipitinas, Preservation Hall, the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Festival, and French Quarter Festivals, as well as numerous private
and corporate events.
In May 2013
she founded LIVE JAZZ GROUP. She
currently performs with LIVE JAZZ
duo along with pianist Rhodes Spedale weekly at Evangeline
Nola Restaurant
in New Orleans
as well as other private and public events with the LIVE JAZZ GROUP
LLOYD CAMBRE
Lloyd Cambre
is a second generation New Orleans Musician.
He is the
Percussionist Premier Drummer for internationally recognized Classical Jazz
Pianist Ronnie Kole.
Lloyd Cambre
received his Bachelor of Music Degree from SLU and his Master of Music
Education Degree from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago.
His forty
years of playing have included performing with Jimmy Dorsey, Dr. John, Frankie
Ford, Warren Covington, Allen Toussaint, Tommy Dorsey, The Baton Rouge
Symphony, famed jazz trumpeter Clark Terry, The Coasters, Al Belletto Quartet
and Big Band, Myron Floren, Big Tiny Little from the Lawrence Welk Orchestra
and Florence Henderson.
He has toured
with Dukes of Dixieland and internationally with the Guy Lombardo and the Royal
Canadians on their Community Concert Tour with the Pied Pipers and Gary Crosby.
He has performed throughout
Central and South America on numerous tours with the Jazz
Professors. He has played for the Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Ships, the Mississippi Queen,
American Queen and Delta Queen River Boats, and the Treasure Chest, Treasure
Bay,
Grand, Harrahs, President, and Magic Casinos.
He is active in the New Orleans
Music scene and always looks forward to playing his hometowns two biggest
musical events: The French Quarter Festival
and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
GINGERBREAD, THE ORIGINAL
She is a born and raised New Orleanian bringing a style of jazz with vocalese akin to the style of Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross. She has toured with Donald Harrison, among other stellar musicians including backup vocals for Stevie Wonder when he performed in New Orleans before the pandemic. She is also the featured vocalist for the group TETRAD. Gingerbread has New Orleans musical heritage as her great uncle was Clarinetist Joseph "Cornbread" Thomas.

Gio is a multifaceted vocalist and
instrumentalist who sets the bar for other jazz vocalists. His singing of the standards, improvisation,
and ability to engage the listener’s attention is unique and reveals a
true depth and feeling for jazz tunes.
He is a jazz singer. He is frequently a special guest vocalist with LIVE JAZZ GROUP.
